Andy Steiger, Founder and Director, Apologetics Canada

Apologetics Canada – an organization dedicated to helping churches across Canada better understand and engage today’s culture. Inspiring and challenging believers to think and thinkers to believe.

Andy is the founder and director of Apologetics Canada, He created and hosted the Thinking Series and is the Author of Thinking? Answering Life’s Five Biggest Questions. He has spoken on life’s big questions internationally in universities, conferences, churches, prisons and coffee shops. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.

Andy is the force behind The Human Project– a new evangelistic video series by Apologetics Canada and Power to Change. This four part series explores the gospel through culturally relevant and important questions about what it means to be human

Andy lives in Abbotsford, BC, Canada with his wife, Nancy, and their two boys.

Michael Van Pelt, President and CEO, Cardus

Cardus (root: cardo) is a think tank dedicated to the renewal of North American social architecture. Drawing on more than 2000 years of Christian social thought, they work to enrich and challenge public debate through research, events, and publications, for the common good.

Since 2000, Michael has helped build Cardus into a full-fledged think tank, delivering research that is public, credible and Christian… helping institutions strategically connect their beliefs with their behaviours.

A graduate of McMaster University and the London School of Economics, Michael has authored and co-authored numerous articles ranging from religion and public life to economics and government policy. He has served as a member of the board of directors of different federal government agencies.

Michael is a vibrant ideas generator and sought after collaborator and is deeply involved in the research aspects of Cardus.

He lives in Ancaster, Ontario with his wife Deani and their children.

Shaila Visser, National Director, Alpha Canada

Shaila Visser is the National Director of Alpha Canada and a key leader on the Global Executive Team for Alpha International. She is the Executive Producer of both The Alpha Youth Film Series (2013) and The Alpha Film Series (2016), and currently holds a position on the Board of Regent College-an International Graduate School in Vancouver. Shaila credits Power to Change, the mentors she had there over 8 years as a staff member as setting her on the leadership path.

Shaila has a heart for people coming to know Jesus and is passionate about helping the local church flourish. She is a gifted communicator who is known for her strategic leadership as well as her ability to bring people together. Shaila is recognized as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Christian Women in Canada. Shaila lives in Vancouver Canada with her husband, Ryan Visser; a Vancouver Police Officer on the K9 Unit. Shaila and Ryan have two four legged family members, Blade and Talon.
